Class for Caregivers: Sensory Challenges in Dementia

Description

10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

This class is specifically designed for caregivers of those affected by dementia. It is not suitable for adults living with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia to attend.

Learn practical information for caregivers that incorporate nature-based dementia care.

In this class designed for caregivers, you will better understand the possible impacts on the five senses that people living with dementia may experience. Using practical ideas from “green” (nature-based) dementia care and reminiscence therapy, caregivers can consider options that may improve the quality of life, communication, and mood of loved ones living with dementia.

Presenter Vicki Kaufmann, MA, MPST, is a retired social service administrator, a former certified family life educator (CFLE), and a caregiver to her mother who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and vascular dementia.
