Bonsai Basics Workshop
Description
Join Gary Jones and Ken Bross as they introduce you to the basics of Art of Bonsai and some of the principles of how to create a bonsai. This will be a beginner level class, touching on the important aspects of creating a bonsai. Members will receive a 1-gallon Juniper tree, scissors, a training pot, and personal guidance as the material is transformed into a bonsai. Come join in on the fun and get your hands dirty!
Both Ken Bross and Gary Jones are long-time members of the San Diego Bonsai Club, having participated as demonstrators, teachers, workshop presenters, and assistant to beginner class instructors. Ken is also a master wood-worker creating beautiful bonsai stands for displaying bonsai.
SDBG follows local safety and health guidelines, and supports staff and visitors who choose to wear masks as they prefer.
Class format: In-person, indoors
Cost: Members $30, Non-members $38 (Please note that class fees include only admission to the Dickinson Family Education Conservatory and not Garden admission.)
***Additional $30 materials fee paid to the instructor at class
